Hi,

I have a cruiser cable with crocodile clips (1 red, 1 black) coming out the the fastport connector. I've read that I need to supply 3v to the cable but how to do that? I've looked at the voltage of 2 aa batteries and they are 1.5v, how would I connect the AA batteries to the battery or what other methods are there of supplying 3v? (I've read eyeyousee's post on modding the cable by soldering the wires but I dont have a soldering gun anymore and TBH my soldering skills arent the best).

Thanks for helping a n00b :)

wrap the batteries firmly with a scotch tape or electrical tape, connect one wire to the positive side of the battery.
you can use tape to hold the wire, same with the negative side. make sure it is firm or strong enough, we don't want to lose connection while flashing! these is the fastest way to get a 3v power. you need two (2) AA battery (1.5 + 1.5). Red crocodile wire (+) for positive and the black one is for (-) negative.

good luck mate! :)

See the attached picture: black is (-), red is (+)
Take care. If you reverse the voltage you will damage your phone. (I did it and my handsfree is not longer working properly)

I use an old sony mindisc 3v AC-DC adapter. Chop the end off, split the wires, plug it in and your done. :)

Yes, i believe that's more stable (3v) source. or you can use any cheap walkman (tape deck) adaptor, the one with voltage selector.
