Hello
I recently took my k750 for cleaning and am not sure what the guy did wrong after closing the phone, i tried to open the camera but it keeps telling me to open the lens cover even when its open. Could ANYONE BE FAMILIAR WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM?
Merci

It's a fairly common problem, sounds like this person that opened it damaged the camera's ribbon flex cable. The little microswitch which activates the camera when the slider's opened has probably been snapped off. It'll need replacing, but the part can be bought from places like Ebay or www.cnn.cn quite cheaply and there's a guide on here for taking the phone apart.

Hello. I've got a similar problem so I thought I'd post here..

I tried new housing and the fricking slide broke the tiny plastic part which goes up and down :(

So I really have to buy the whole new part for it? :(

Yep, I'm afraid you'll need the entire new ribbon cable I'm afraid, though they are very cheap. Although I think someone's posted a guide on how to solder the contacts within that microswitch so that you can activate the camera by pressing and holding the shutter button - not sure where that is, will have to have a look later!

I'd really appreciate that if you could find it! My dad's an electrician so he could give it a go :)

one more to the list.......... i had the same problem...accidentally broke the switch when cleaning my phone......
i found a VKP patch that disables the "Open Lens Cover" message... and now the camera works fine...
Just that when i open the cover, my camera doesn't automatically turn on anymore.....
nway, its working and thats all i need....
