Quick question, I know there is a foam seal around the screen to keep dust out, can i remove the faceplate of the phone to replace it and the keyboard without breaking the seal?

hello

after starting out with a w700i then chaging the case to a black w800i and wrecking it

i got a blakc k750i, which i then changed the case on to an orange one,

which i inturn got rid of

then i though it might take the orange bit off the back and get a black middle bick to make a k750i look like a w610i

i then bought a cheap case from a market and used the orange middle on a blakc k750i but it had silver side buttons which i didnt like

so i changed it back to silver

then i got a silver k750i case whuich i dropped and its got very scratched

i havce now decied to put this case onto the k750i so it looks like a w810i white  but with a white w800i front and back ads in this link

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...me=STRK%3AMEWA%
3AIT&viewitem=&item=330114173641&rd=1&rd=1

so what you think and if anyone nows of a way to flash a 6 month old k750i to a w800i that would be helpfull 2

oh and im gonnas get a 2 or 4gb memory stick insted of 512

Hi.

I've succesfully dismantled my W700i... No problems at all...
Also with putting everythin back I've got no problems...

But now, I want to get W800i/W810i firmware on my W700i, can someone tell me what I need to get that right on my phone?

Thx.

After disassembling my SE to add new housing, my camera doesn't work anymore.
When I go to Camera, it reads to "Open the lens cover". I noticed that the 'trigger' of the camera (as circled in the photo) is no longer attached to where it was supposed to be.
Can someone help me out? Or is there no way to fix it?
The phone itself works fine, it's just I can't use the camera option now.

Thank you in advance.

You need a new camera flex cable

No he doesn't. I've had the same problem, I opened that little square thing, and putted the iron stroke that was in the little square thing to another piece of iron in that little square thing... And it worked fine. Now only thing is that the camera won't respond anymore if you open the camera shutter.
Sorry if you don't understand me, but I'm from Holland and my English isn't very good.

Hi,
How d'you get past the star shaped screws in the bottom corners under the battery? You gotta buy special screwdriver or is there anything else that'd do the trick?!

Thanks

If you force to use a small flat screw driver it may damage the screw. You need a TORX screw driver size T7.
You can try those sizes before you buy one!

then im gonna get a w800i front and a w810i middle and back in white

but first is it possable to put a w810i back on a k760i cause it doesnt have a lense cover, can i like stick the swich in the open postion?

a fast relpy would be very helpfull

if this isnt possable then i will just use a w800i case with the w810i middle

Someone, posted somewhere here that it is possible to use a W810 mid plate with W800 or K750, but you will need some modification with the W810 mid plate to be able to fit in the mainboard and the camera lens bay.
If you will use the W800 mid plate on the other hand, no need of any modifications.

Regarding the idea of sticking the camera switch in the open or outside the housing, technically it is posible.
But it is dangerous! you might accindentally break the knob! And it is useless since, that switch is designed for the cover, the latch switch, that how we call it. If you let it out that way, the camera will be always on "off" mode.
Even if you go to main menu and select the camera, it will as you to "please open the lens cover".
I hope you get the idea!? Because, once you open the lens cover that switch will be turn on by the latch cover!

Hello.

I'm thinking of making my K750 completely black (it currently has the default black case). And so I have some questions.

Can someone please list EVERY tool I would need for this (special screw drivers, etc)? I'm buying them tomorrow.

And another thing, I want to paint my K750 gloss black, so I was thinking of getting a can of black gloss spraypaint, this is what I'm looking for right?

Oh and since I'm painting my current case, how could I keep the Sony Ericsson name on the front plate and the Sony Ericsson logo on the back plate safe (without the paint touching it).

Some really quick replies would be really appreciated.

Thanks a load :)!

Thanks for all the help, but I thought it would be better, easier and safer to keep the front plate and back plate as they are and just spray the middle plate and the volume, play button, camera button, camera flap and everything that's not already black only.

And since my camera button looks like it's chrome, will it look ugly if I spray over it too? Is it really chrome or just plastic?

So, I need the EXACT colour the original K750 black casing uses, will I be fine if I buy a matte black can of spray paint?

Also, please someone tell me all the types of screw drivers I need (the names I need to tell the shopkeeper to get them) as I have no idea about these screws. Please.

Thanks.

Hi all,

I have been reading this forum with interest. I have mostly dismantled the K750i.

My problem is that the phone got put into the washing machine but dispite this after drying, it did seem to work as normal. However then the LCD screen stopped lighting up which mean it is very difficult to read the screen.

Can anyone suggest the best way to try and get the LCD screen light working again or will it mean getting and fitting a new LCD screen ?
