PART I - The superficials

Here is a nice guide i put together for all who like to take expensive things apart :p

It is a tough mod actually, in my experience it is on a similar level tothe p-series. But i dont mean to put you off, give it a go!

Have fun :p

1. ok, lets do this. Now remove the battery cover (lol that will be the easiest thing you do in this mod) Unscrew the 4 screws you see, and keep them somewhere safe :)

Posted Image

2. Now, use something with a blunt blade and skim around the edges of the back cover, turn the blade now and again and that will release the catches.

Posted Image

3. Use this same technique for the front cover, be careful of the lcd though, expensive to replace :)

Posted Image

4. Now you should have something like this. Dont be fooled my young friend, we are far from done :)

PART 2 - DOWN UNDER

Right, lets have a look under her skin shall we. hmmm, she is mutton dressed as lamb methinks ;) not very nice at all!

1. Remove the kepad system: Just rips it off, be gentle of course, its like unplugging anything, it really is that easy.

Posted Image

2. Next lets attack the lcd, exactly as the keypad......just unplg it from the board. :)

Posted Image

4. Hopefully you now have this:

Posted Image

5. And what do you know, yes you guessed it....lets unplg the camera from the baord aswell.

Posted Image

6. Now, lift the board free, use the knife again to unclip it. And pull it out from the base connector.

Posted Image

Note - i will make a special part for them camera, coming up next...

PART 3 - The Camera

1. OK, so now the board is free from the case. What do we see? We see the camera lense and the ribbon. Now, unplug the ribbon from the actual camera, then lift it free.

Posted Image

2. Dont forget to remove the little sticky pieces and the flash led's, they just lift free with a knife very easily.

Posted Image

Great, thats it. ONe completely dissmantled K750i

PART 4 - RECOMPOSITION (The Final Act)

Now all we have to do is put our new housing on. Just retrace the steps and you will be fine. Couple of tips though, put the button in first....they can be tricky.

Posted Image

Then, once done lets hope you have something looking like this.

Posted Image Posted Image

And thats that, folks. Personally i dont like it all that much. Will be putting a new black housing on it asap.

Any questions please ask, i know there are plenty of others who have done this, i am sure voda jon will help when he isnt playing with his balls :p

That is amazing. Really really good. I always wanted to know if it was possible. I always wanted the w800. Now when I get tired fo the k750, I am "upgrading" to a w800.

Thanks G.

Before the end of this week, I hope to recieve my silver housing. And now, because of you I know how to do it.

And about the looks. I fully agree, the K750i housing looks better then that ugly W800 (T-Mobile) housing

The w800 is more kiddy, the k750 is more classy.

G mate, do you think it is possible to change the middle bit of K750 (the silver part) to the W800 orange, and also change the light behind the keypad to a V800 blue ?

If so, how would you do it :)

My Blog - It's new, be nice :)

In reference to the recent UFO crashing into a wind turbine up't north, suspected "an ultrasecret robot stealth aircraft project hinted at by MoD";
"El Reg rang the MoD for clarification as to what material it has which could be classified as more secret than top secret, but a spokesman said: "That's so secret it's beyond above top secret, I'm afraid." ®"

The D750i looks worst of all. The K750i looks classy and the W800i looks like it came out of the "My First Sony Ericsson" series...

I rather like the W800 myself, but I think we should concentrate on discussing g's guide in this thread thank you. :)

That looks very nice! I do prefer the k750i fron and back cover, but i prefer the mainframe of the w800i.

Its also a shame that the all the w800i covers i've seen have d750i keypads and don't have the ms slot cover

Yeh i guess the release housings will come soon enough though. These are from SEMC factory china i would imagine and only containing some parts.....

So, do we think Black K750i with Blue LED's would be an improvement? I could see it on the silver one put i just cant picture it on the black model............
