Does it fit over something when in place on the circuit board perhaps?

I've spotted that 'dial' too, I think it's actually a tiny screw, though I'm not sure what that screw is for! It doesn't fit into anything - unless it's for adjusting something? Could be a fix to hardware 'white screen' problems?

So what is the dial for then?
I noticed it when i last changed my case.
Had to fight the urge to twiddle with it.

Simple answer, NO.

Might be use to change the brightness, contrast or gamma for the LCD. Remember, some K750 (earlier model) have problem with gamma and need to use a modified display driver.

Just tried turning that screw/dial a quarter turn clockwise, and it does not seem to have made much difference, might need to turn it more.

Haven't dared turn it any more just in case! though I do have a slightly broken screen (bit of LCD leakage) I might try having more of a fiddle with later!

So if there is no end to turning it does it simply cycle round the settings?

e.g. (purely to show what I mean)

00 = normal

900 = setting 1

1800 = setting 2

2700 = setting 3

3600 = normal again

etc etc, no matter how many times you turn it or which way?

I have made 2nd test,

900 = 2700 using my naked eyes.

The best still normal position 00 = 3600.

The dial is not really circle, there flat tip on it. Normal position should be flat tip facing down in normal phone position.

If you want to go into technical details .... that little thing is a variable resistor, it's used to adjust the flowing current in a circuit .... and BTW. it is highly recommended not to turn it. :byebye:

I know that and you're to late, I already turn it and nothing bad happen to my phone. If by turning that will make my phone faulty or whatever, why SE put that thing there. Why don't SE just put a normal resistor with the correct value. I think that variable resistor is use to control current for a different LCD maker.

As I see know there is 2 different LCD use for K750/W800. The older K750 LCD have gamma problem. I think by turning the resistance to the right position, older K750 LCD will have a better gamma.
