K750i Infrared As Tv Remote Control possible?

Is there any patch or java app that enables the k750i infrared port to be used as a TV remote control?
can a patch or java app be developed for it?

i dont think that the k750 ir port is strong enogh to give out signals that will travel a few meters

I have seen some symbian apps for a infrared tv remote on getjar.com, no java apps tho, plus the people using it have complained about its range, being restrained to only about 20-40 cm away from the tv, plus it kills the battery very fast.

plus java cant communicate via the IR
symbian can also send signals
