You cant even convert CID36 to brown with DCU-60. AFAIK, the way to convert a phone without a tool is to flash brown erom. I did and my phone failed to start up so I needed a service cable anyway lol to recover the phone/

actually now people want their phones to be brown and not red.
we now have all the red functionality (except the w800 and firmware slider thingy) but we can also customize the phone using phoneXC without the need to bruteforce into it and also with phoneXS (older versions, the ones with loaders outside the program) but it requires bruteforce...

hi moseschrist, did you upload files without bruteforcing? In another thread you said that phonexc always try to bruteforce. Did you manage to skip the bruteforcing? If so, with which version of phonexc? Thanks!

use early versions of phoneXC, before they implemented the bruteforece method...
i didn't upload any files that way since i don't know how to use these command line versions of phoneXC.

i have tried the first version of phoneXC, it asks for a loader and i write the name of our wonderful loader, than phoneXC spits some data and at the end you get: phone entered binary mode or something like that...

basicly, after it reaches this state you can write files to the phone. but if these versions of phoneXC support it, i don't know... this you will have to ask someone who is more in touch with these projects...

anyway implementing support for this in the new builds of phoneXC shouldn't be too hard, since there is nothing to do, no breaking no hacking no nothing, just load the loader and start sending files to the phone, like good old cid36 :)

Ok moseschrist, i thought you had managed to bypass the bruteforcing step in phonexc or something. I'd rather wait till the developers add these loaders to phonexs or SEFP. i've been waiting months so i can bear a few more days. :)
It's odd, a week ago, we, brown owners where looking for turning ours phones to red, now its the opposite. Brown certificate FTW! :p

@ sethdev
hi, sethdev in the next version of phonexs (ie the gui version) support for this loader will be added. Also progress is been made with the SEFP. I think you should wait till new versions of those programs are released (the far plugin above all) than try to upload files blindly. After all, the brown loaders were realeased only a few days ago. If you anyways can't wait, i think you should ask in the phonexc thread to the gurus, as i'm afraid we, humble cid49 brown owners, have absolutely no idea :p

@ angry_machine
and a way to change our firmware to a W800 one, won't hurt also (Hint: walkman player) ;)

Hi, I have a brown w600 with WSOD, can I do something to resuscitate it with phoneXC and these new loaders?
I will appreciate a step by step guide, as I'm new with this.

Edit: I'm copying this post to another thread
