Sony Mobile today announced Xperia go and Xperia acro S for global release and what is interesting about these two smart phones is that Sony boasts they are extra durable and water resistant. We have already come across a phone of this sort and we know it's not just a gimmick.

Xperia go is powered by 1 GHz STE NovaThor™ U8500 Dual Core Processor, ARM® Mali™ 400 GPU, 512 MB RAM, 8 GB internal phone storage (up to 4 GB user-accessible memory) also it supports a microSD card, up to 32 GB.

It has a 3.5” Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA® engine, 5 MP fast capture camera with LED flash which will record videos at 720p. 1305mah embedded battery will power Xperia go.

The phone meets industry standard IP67 rating that means Xperia go is protected against dust and the effects of immersion between 15 cm and 1 m for 30 minutes. Xperia go will be available in black, white and yellow. The phone will be launched in Q3 and will get the name Xperia advance in the US market. Launching on Android 2.3, Xperia go will be upgraded to ICS later.

Xperia acro S is a higher-end waterproof smartphone that packs a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 Dual Core Processor, Adreno™ 220 GPU, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage (11GB user accessible) and also microSD memory card support. It has a 4.3” (720 x 1280) Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA® engine, 12.1MP camera capable of recording 1080p videos, NFC and HDMI.

Xperia acro S has a 1910mAh embedded battery and another interesting addition is that the phone meets IP55 and IP57 rating that means the phone is protected against dust-limited to ingress (no harmful deposits) and the effects of immersion between 15 cm and 1 m for 30 minutes. Acro S is also PlayStation® certified. The phone will be available in black, white and pink and will launch globally with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. We can expect it during Q3.

But if its true that there will be a quad core xperia this year i'll wait and buy that one cause the xperia s is at the moment the best looking phone(in my opinion)

Arco s is far better specifications.
