IrDA (infrared) is no longer being used in latest mobiles, because it has really small range and the data transmission is terribly slow.

Infrared not in legue because there are many option available like wifi, bluetooth etc.

I have a P1i and this phone has infrared and everything... I miss a GPS but it's ok there are bluetooth GPS modules.
