Expected to be announced in the MWC 2012, Xperia U (kumquat) is rumored to be a smaller version of the Xperia S, packing a 1GHz dual-core processor, 3.5-inch (480 x 854) display and a 5MP rear camera.

Now we have more pictures of the phone and this time it's a sort of comparison with the bigger sibling, the Xperia S. The main difference we noticed is that the Xperia U has a removable battery where as the Xperia S has a sealed one. Everything else looks the same as Xperia S. Just see it yourself.

Now that's an original idea to make a cheaper version of a phone. Just make exactly the same one, but scale down the dimensions. LOL  

But why has the Xperia S the 'Sony'-logo on top, while the Xperia U still uses the 'Sony ericsson'-logo?

Because its still prototype maked before 'Sony Ericsson' - 'Sony'
