hmm...   now suddenly when i woke up this morning my phone showed this problem.

the keys which aren't working are up, down, left, right, right softkey, center softkey.

this happens only when the slider is open. when it's closed it works again.

any suggestions?

I guess it is a problem with connector cable(s). Flex.

yes, i also guessed the same but it is still working well when slider is closed.
it is so annoying when the phone has past one month after warranty period.

Change flex cable!
I had same problem before 2 months!
Flex got cut from both sides and 1st keys were working when slider was in close position, then keys stop working in both positions!
Only Call,End call and C keys were working and at last except End call all keys stop working and also no sound in call!
I changed flex by going to service centre @2k nearly!
Better order and change it yourself!

If you do it by yourself will cost around 600-800!

i have found a dissassembly guide.
But do you have a re-assembly tutorial? How to fix that walkman part on upper slider beneath the keys?

And where can i find flex cable?
Couldn't find on e-bay.

but you wont get original flex cable then.
it usually stops working within 2-3 months

Itz(walkman pannel) sticky so u can put that on again!
I saw it(flex) on ebay!

It behaves like that for somedays and then stops finaly!
Itz just the sign of broken flex cable!
Better check by deassembling phone, will take 15-20 min to check!

A good flex cable for W705/W715/G705 (not genuine, but good quality one) only cost around US$1,5 (supplier price), it will last more than 6 months.
You may need double sided tape for reataching the walkman logo on the front slider and for gluing some part of flex to the frame if you want it last longer than 6 months.

i think i would take it to service centre.
i opened the housing but found nothing except few scratches on the cable as my slider count says: 22154

Mine slider count 69598
Btw it cost 1950 actual, 1680 flex and 270 service charges!

Ok, I got it replaced at service centre.
they charged 1250 INR for it with one month warranty.
