Hi everyone I have Xperia arc with the firmware 2.3.3 and I want to root it without unlock the bootloader I used gingerbreak for that and it didn't work so if there is another way to root it and if I have to unlock the bootloader so after that I can update my phone with the Sony Ericsson PC Companion

So I tried this method and the OTA update didn't work
and another question if I unlock the bootloader (track id will work or not ?)and what will be change in the phone ???

I never unlocked the boot loader. I just followed the tutorial and updated through OTA now i have rooted Arc 2.3.4 . Try once again :) . Infact i implemented that tutorial today succeeded first time luckily here in India. If u just want a rooted arc 2.3.4 unlocking boot loader is not at all required.

I think that the OTA update depended on your location so to me the 2.3.4 didn't release  yet and thank you alot for Comment

2.3.4 not available in india also but still i got it because i flashed the firmware given in the tutorial. Thats why i said try doing it again.

It worked finally I got 2.3.4 with roooooooooooot !!!
