:tut: I'm really upset that Sony Ericsson phones which are sold in Indonesia are almost always been made in china.
The quality I got from my Cedar (made in china) was not satisfying :bad: .
Now I'm about to buy XPERIA Ray     , I want it made in Japan, but all Japan phones are SIM-locked.
I want to unlock it till I can get access to the internet by non-Docomo SIM card (Use it in Indonesia).
Docomo serves the unlock, but no access for internet.

So, I've thought to change the ROM to vanish the SIM-lock and I don't care about guarantee.
Will ROM changing vanish the SIM-lock? But I want an original latest ROM for XPERIA Ray (also the xLOUD).
Omnius has said that it can unlock XPERIA Ray system files.

Thank you very much for your respond.

AFAIK, phone made will not have an effect on the phone quality as the phones are standardized.

The simlock is in the bootloader, not in the rom.

Well, I say china has no standard. They think they're the boss, man. And I don't like it.
My china made cedar, there's a difference on the signal when the case is opened or closed. And when it's a bit hot, it lose the internet connection, so a fan is needed when cedar is used as a modem.

My w995 also got 45+ degrees when using streaming radio for a while. This is because the 3g radio uses much power so the battery gets hot.

Actually what you say is a bit subjective, and cedar itself do have signal problem, like my father's (it often drop from 3G to 2G, while it's stable on my naite). So it affects the internet connection. I heard updating to latest firmware solves problem, try it before you buy the ray :)

Docomo serves it's offical unlock, but it only unlocks Call and SMS, no internet.
I'm searching for full unlock, maybe Omnius is the answer.

@fundre: I want Ray because I need Android device.
