"Yes" you are right. AFAIK Sony doesn't distribute it's headphones meant for mobiles in those kind of boxes. I also got HPM-70 in one of those boxes. And the shopkeeper told me that it's real. The cost was 380Rs. the other headphone that he had were HPM-70 in a poly-bag just like the ones that we get inside the Sony Ericsson mobile phone box. He said that these cost more. I was baffled and asked him how come the same brand, model and quality headphones be at different price range. Either the first one is not real or the second one is fake?
To which he said that the second one in the polybag had better stereo. I was not convienced. And wanted to test it by myself. So, I opened that box and when I pluged them in one of the headphone was malfunctioing and the sound was also low. In sharp contrast the other one in the polybag was just like the real ones. So, I took the ones in the poly-bag.
After this I had bought 2 pairs of them after a interval of 6months. And I had no problem at all.
I also got to know from somewhere that Sony Ericsson only sends the original in poly-bags & not those kind of boxes.
Now, it's upto you whatever you want to think.
But, according to me those headphone that came in that box cannot be real. Only good copy of real. You would know that if you would plug the original ones and compare the sound.

SE doesn't distribute them in boxes? I can't believe that. As I and others have said; they look perfectly genuine.

(if you buy from a sony store, they will give u box but if u buy from a sony ericsson service center, they just give a polybag and you can get accesories in cheaper price at service center)

"Yes", I think it might be the case. But, still I think that buying from a service center is always better than from a Sony general store(They have many other Sony products as well). After the experience I would never buy a genuine Sony mobile headset in those boxes. I also got to know that Sony only sends it's mobile accessories to genuine service centres & authorised Sony stores. But, what I found was that these kind of boxes were also freely available on other stores as well. And they all claimed that they were genuine. But, none have those poly-bags. I guess a lot of them are mere copies of the real product. As they are easy to copy and people would have more faith in those kind of boxes. Sony Ericsson accessories are not as freely available as Nokia or Samsung. And that makes one suspicious when these kind of boxes are available all over the place at different price points. Something is definitely not right!!!
There is a lot of piracy and it's hard to tell what product is genuine & which are not. But, in my personal opinion those boxes have a greater chance of being fake!! Rest is up to you!!!!

A clarification:
That was fake, the seller was trying to cheat crnvaliantz by telling it was an original one, but crnvaliantz found the sound quality wasn't good enough, so crnvaliantz made two threads on our two local forums, crnvaliantz showed the pictures of it and gave explanation about the sound quality, and most of people who saw and read crnvaliantz's threads were sure that it was fake one, the good news, crnvaliantz got refund from the seller.
