As we already posted there was a competition (you were able to apply to SE and say why you want to review one of the new phones) a few weeks ago. Now the winners were chosen and four of their reviews will be published at SE's Facebook page.

Above you can see the new Sony Ericsson phones. The one with the keyboard is the txt pro, the other one is the Mix Walkman. The OS of them is SE's own, like the one from Yendo.
At first a few Mix Walkman details and features:
It's a touch phone (as you already know) with a Walkman-related feature called Zappin. Let me quote the explanation: "[...] ZappinTM lets you browse through your songs in a fun way by automatically being served the chorus of the songs while skipping through them" It also has a karaoke mode that tries to lower the vocal track of your songs. There is even a way to change its look: The band around the edges is changeable!
Now some txt pro specifications:
It is designed for communication - that's why it has a full qwerty keyboard. It has social applications pre-installed to stay connected with your friends from facebook and twitter.
They both have Wi-Fi, the four-corner interface and will be launched in Q3.
Do you think the Mix Walkman is the new phone for Walkman fans?
Source: Sony Ericsson Product Launch Blog

No 3G is a letdown, but if the price is right (read: cheaper than SE's own Android phones) it might as well be a great purchase for the low end range :)

I really don't get why they waste time and R&D with such announcment/devices.
These offering looks pretty old and chunky imo.

It all depends on price.

because not everyone wants/can afford buying high-end Android-powered minicomputer. there are people who want a touch phone, but the Android is too difficult/expensive (data transfer) for them. that's why there are lot of Samsung Corbys, Samsung Montes, LG Cookies etc. in the market. and I think that's really good move from SE's side, as long as the phones won't be as laggy as Yendo. great way to attract more customers.

The problem is I am yet to meet the first satisfied Corby/Cookie/Star/... user

my flatmate owns Samsung Avila (that's how Star is called in Poland) and he doesn't complain (although he wants to switch to Monte). the same with my friend from the uni group (but I had to help her to disable the widget that somehow she put behind softkey and couldn't get it out :D). the doctor who was teaching me anatomy has Monte, although she could afford arc for sure. another friend of mine was using LG Viewty for a long time and was quite satissfied (she's stupid, but that's the other story). and another one is using Samsung Monte and I haven't heard any word of complaint. oh, and another girl is using LG Cookie. shall I go on? :p
the point is, not everyone needs super smooth working touch display. as long as it's touch and fashionable :p

I truly agree with u. Here In India, there r millions of Samsung/LG low quality touchscreen users.
These r realy dumb people who really dontcare about the OS/Processor/Sound quality ,etc and many of them even dont know Android exists or its spelling..They r cost conscious mass people on which Nokia/Samsung/LG have incurred huge profits whereas SONY and MOTO failed. These lauugh at us as me n some of my buddies support and use SE.
But that shows how SE needs to provide cheap touch screens..it even doesnot matter if they dont have 3G/Wifi coz these services (3G) r still very costly here.
The fact is,over 100 CORBY/STAR/COOKIES/Xpressmusic sell when 1 Se X10/X8 sells here.
Some r so dumb that they just dont know what bugs are and are satisfied with these low quality China made touchscreens from Samsung/Nokia/LG.

SE really needs Non Android Touchphones....

what u said here is almost true because here in India only Social networking ,texting and calling are the main needs of the people.
There are very few "Get the best out of your phone" users in India.

Maybe....but moreover they dont know other uses of phone....they only know those things whixh cheap phonemakers show them at low price....

Some illiterate people cant bear when we praise Sony and they mindlessly argue that how their cheap Expressmusics/Cookies/Corbys n Stars sound and capture far batter than Sony's walkmans and cybershots....
I really dont undrstand what to say to these people.....

Hence I call them dumb...!!!!
I Love SONY.
