Even if the Xperia PLAY is a very good Android smartphone there is one bad thing: You can't connect it to your TV through HDMI. But now pictures which are showing a PLAY-handset connected through HDMI to a TV appeared. Maybe it's a USB -&gt; HDMI cable? Oh, stop it! The PLAY don't have a port on the postion showed in the image below:<p><a href="http://blog.se-nse.n...ected.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10052" title="xperia-play-hdmi-connected" src="http://blog.se-nse.n...-connected.jpg" alt="xperia-play-hdmi-connected" width="598" height="448" /><br></a><p>So there is only one possibility left: It's a new generation XPERIA PLAY! To be honest it doesn't look very different to the current PLAY. Maybe it's a upgrade like the Vivaz Pro was? Anyways we'll keep you updated about this thing!<p><a href="http://blog.se-nse.n...o-evo.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10053" title="xperia-play-hdmi-pro-evo" src="http://blog.se-nse.n...mi-pro-evo.jpg" alt="" width="524" height="340" /><br></a><p>Source: SE-Xperia.com

Sony Ericsson have nothing to do with contracts. They release the handsets the networks decide what contracts to put them on.

Development on the next handset would have started before the last/current model was on the shelves.

Anyway in the tear down wasn't there an area on the PCB for a connector that was missing? development/modded?
