Well, since not physically owning an SE device since the K850i (although I have had a few others to test) I have finally ordered a new SE device. All at the expense of my iPhone. Anyone who has known me from my years on the forum would know I have had all variations of the iPhone and i'm a loyal mac user. iOS is the real reason I've made my mind up on trying Android again and getting back to SE. Its just stale and boring and I really do not see Apple giving it the wow factor any time soon.

so I may be back on this forum a little more often :p

Matt

I to am going down this route.

I started of with the K750i moved to Nokia N73 and back to an SE W910i. Switched to the iPhone and had every version from 2g to 3g to 3gs and iPhone 4.  also bought an iPad and as they are basically the same execpt for the camera chose to get the SE Play.

Hopefully there will be additional software so it will work with my PS3 like the PSP does!!

Should get the phone tomorrow

So far it seems ok. Fairly smooth going between menus. Setup my gmail account but it finishes it, it takes you back to the start screen asking you to setup an account. It looks a bit confusing on that.

Also it took about 3 minites to power on.

Will have a better play while at work

:welcome:

They do take awhile to start up first time round but most handsets do on initial power up.

Getting the stand chucked in is a nice deal, I've seen they are £17.99 on Play.com where a lot are selling them near £30 mark but not sure if I am going to get one anytime soon it sits nice on the X-stand I had for iPhones.
I went for a SIM free version after selling iPhone, Just got the car charger (AN400) and cable. Confused me at first when there was 2 USB cables but the one for the charger does not work for data with computer.

I read that the coding is different on PS one games for the Play to the PS one games you get on the PS3/PSP so no real need for software to connect to PS3 as they can't really do anything together.

I just can't wait till some good games come out :)

1 little thing that is bugging me is that when you slide the contorller out to play games the d-pad isn't as fast to respond to moving.  Also sliding the controller back in doesn't shut down the game screen, I have to press the arrow button to go back to the main screen.

Not noticed that personally, I would wish that the when sliding open it launched the playstation pocket app.

I tried the PSX4DROID app today (Link) but sadly it didn't run on my Play - App not responding and crashing.

Kind of gutted would love to have played the original GTA for awhile.

ok quick update

The Play is going back to vodafone.  Over the space of 7 days I have had about 1 days worth of signal always shows the "X" on signal.

Girlfriend is on vodafone and has a w595 and always has a perfect signal. Swapped sims over and on her phone using my sim I get 5 bars but when I placed her sim in the play, the most she got was 2 bars and then the singal dropped.

Spoke to vodafone and they says they have had a bad batch of phones (but they always say that) and that if I want I can replace it, get a different phone, or cancel the contract all together.

Also I have found how to get the signal working for a few hours and that was to reset the phone. Over 7 days I have done the 23 times.  The only other problem I have found is the phone will stop responding for a bit and do nothing, then it will catch up with itself.

It would be a good phone if it actually worked..

Shame I have sold the iPhone as I have no phone now!!!

sorry to here your trouble with the Play.

I can only suggest that Vodafone maybe correct saying they have had a bad batch. From knowing several users of the handset only a few random restart has been reported.

did you apply the software upgrade? settings>about>upgrade?

I got a device SIM free and put my O2 SIM in for now. not noticed any signal issues. I have noticed that wifi isnt as strong as on other devices.

hnope you get something sorted, don't let this 'xperia'nse put you off!
