Hey,

Just a question(s) really,

How hard would it be to make an app that formats Se-nse to your phone, something that allows you to read and post to the forums and maybe even read PM's and stuff?

I know we have the lo-fi version of the site but you still have to do some zooming and have good aim on the touch screen to press the smaller buttons on some pages.

I thought it might be a good idea as SE are releasing handsets with Android.

A good example of an App like this is the one for xda Developers...

But yeah anyway how hard would it be to create an app like this?
and would the Forum (settings and coding) have to be changed to allow something like this?

There's similar apps for iOS and Android OS that reads IPB boards, however the skin SE-NSE uses i think it was isn't compatible

Hmm, What is it called? I'd like to have a play with it.

If the skin wasn't compatible, would that mean it wouldn't be compatible with any app that maybe created?

That would be a solution! but, I just need to find out if se-nse is tapatalk enabled. I'm not buying the app if it doesn't work... and for the moment it appears it isn't.

We've discussed this before when I was Super Moderator and I even made a design for it and we had a coder but the project never finished (Android was the base then).

why not just add a custom skin made for mobile and then add code to current skin to detect iOS and Android OS browser and change to mobile version like we have now but for Lo-fi skin

Actually, the XDA app is based on tapatalk (which you can get a free version of in the market).

Is our board compatible with tapatalk at the moment? No. I have asked for it to be done but so far I have heard nothing.

Im sure that as soon as it is possible with apps for iWhatever and Android there will be an announcement made

As I said,Im sure it will get announced.

However, why create your own app, when we can all "join forces", and create a great app? If, by the time that the app is released and youre not 100% happy with it, then create your own app?

To me the above makes much more sense ;)

I was always hoping that the se-nse modding community would somewhat spread into Android developing and we would have a community produced app. So far there isn't enough activity here to produce anything.
Shame as I always loved the mockups that Photographer produced.
