mobile-review have got their hands on the latest hardware in usual fashion and posted some reasonable images of the Xperia X12. I wouldn't really waste your time in bothering to read their typically biased and negative review but pictures are always good to see:

Anyone else think the camera button seems strangely positioned?

hard to tell isn't it. It does look like one in some of the pictures but then in this one it looks more like a plastic cover:

Either way I have never and probably will never see the appeal of or feel the need to use video calling ;)

As for the looks, I actually prefer the X10. The X12 looks like an X10 wearing a hat

Oh and swapping the back & menu buttons around is as stupid as it is unnecessary! I mean, wtf makes them do things like that?!

I like the look of the X10 much more.

The bar above the screen is too big and the back of the phone isn't my taste.

And why has it "only" 800Mhz?

The processor is a newer generation of the Snapdrogon in the X10 as far as I know.

I would be interested to know how much RAM the X12 has as I believe this is what slows the X10 down.

sorry Mik cant agree with u in this, i dont think MR's reviews r biased atleast with this case. As eldar said when this X12 gets to shops it will be too outdated coz at that time we will see dual core processors and 1080p video recording on mobiles. So unless SE decides to sell it too cheap its simply suicide :bad: i wish i am wrong coz i still love SE!

m-r approach every SE review with that preconceived vision and simply look for ways to prove it. The specs match those of phones they are supposedly committing suicide by competing with.

Compare this to the conclusion of the Desire Z which uses the same processor found in the X12. According to m-r the Desire Z is "worth more attention" than the Desire HD while the X12 with a bigger screen, better resolution, better camera, better battery and slimmer form commits suicide, give me a break!!!

now u r talking like just another SE fan Mik! I still remember i was also thinking just like this when i read w960 review in MR which was too negative, i also said they were biased in some discussion in se-nse. Eldar predicted SE's fall then and just look where they stand now.
And abt the 2nd case we all know even if SE announce X12 now it will take them atleast 2 months to release it, at that time we will see lots of phones with gingerbread and X12 will be stuck at froyo desire hd and z is gonna be a bit outdated at that time! And abt the competitors at this stage HTC is established as the king of android, so to compete with them we need to be innovative and thats what samsung did with the galaxy s so i dont see SE competing with HTC and samsung even in my wild dreams again i wish i am wrong

@ hks_911

you may not have read many of my articles towards SE otherwise you would see that I'm ready to criticise them at any opportunity but still i will praise them when they do well, the difference with m-r is that they are automatically -ve to SE without taking an objective view each time.
My point regarding HTC was not actually about HTC but about m-r's comparison towards the Desire HD. They claim the X12 to be suicide in comparison to the HD while the Desire Z, with lower specs than either, is apparently more interesting. It's simply hypocritical.

@ Lolly

is this for sure or does it carry the SE guarantee?

Excellent, I very much hope they come through with it though and don't just get to the time and realise they have failed to meet the deadline
