Hey guys,

I've already read a forum post about unlocking the K610i, but I think it's a little bit old.

Is it possible to unlock the K610i just by flashing it with a generic firmware and german customization pack?

I would use a2uploader for that.

Will I get any problems by doing this?

Thanks, fooness

So the simlock isn't a firmware issue?

you won't use a2upoader, because k610 is not an a2 phone.
use xs++ 3.1: http://forums.se-nse...-xs-v31-darwin/

and use simlock generator for generating unlock patch for your fw: http://www.4shared.c...ckPatchGen.html

but first post log from xs++, because if your phone is CID53, you wont be able to flash it with xs, you should use FAR+jdflasher, or omnius(i think it can flash db2020 phones for free, not 100% sure, so check)

and of course flash drivers: http://www.4shared.c...setup-2206.html

This is 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 5% pleasure, 50% pain.
And a 100% reason to remember the name!

That's rubbish. The tools you need have been out there for ages.

Not really. The simlock is not in the firmware, but if you patch the firmware with a "remove simlock" patch, the phone won't care about the simlock anymore because the simlock check routine will be removed.
Check the posts on DB2020 patching and the tool Corman spoke about.

You could as well just use SE Tool lite. It can identify the phone (instead of XS++) and patch the phone (instead of FAR+jdF).

Once you do get it, post a log. If its CID53 then the AnyCID method will need to be used.

Personal messages that have no need to be private will not be answered. We have a forum for asking questions so please use it.

Which he can only do if he has access to the games menu. But lets see what he has first :)

Geez now the handy will be unlocked officially with this strange unlock key from the provider, dunno. :-o

I'm sorry for this but thanks for all your help. At least now I know that sim lock hasn't anything to do with the firmware.

Keep on being such a great help to newbies. :)

That's the best and safest solution if you can get it for free. Otherwise do as Boysie said.
