Hello, I recently got my Desire and tried to import my contacts from old phone (SE C510), I saved them on the SIM card. Android found them but then I realized that the names don't appear correctly. All names appeared like this: "Lastname;Firstname /1".
I've found a way to import all the contacts correctly without renaming every single contact:

This guide should apply to all Android devices, tested on a HTC Desire with Stock Eclair

What you need:

Let's start!

1. Download and install MyPhoneExplorer.

2. Connect your Sony Ericsson phone over Bluetooth or USB in MyPhoneExplorer.

3. Goto the "Contacts" section and select "Phone", then right-click on any of your contacts and select "Export/Import" and then "Export entire phonebook..." and save your contacts.

4.
Bluetooth method: Now send the contacts file to your Android phone over Bluetooth, when received go to the Notifications panel and open the file, the phone will then ask you if you want to import the contacts, select "Yes". Done! Your contacts will now be imported correctly!

USB method: Connect your Android device to your computer in Disk Drive mode, copy the contacts file to a folder of your choice. Then open it in a file manager such as "ES File Explorer", then Android should ask you if you want to import the contacts; Select Yes. Your contacts will now be imported correctly!

Happy importing!
