2 ways to activate TechMode:
  • enter *585*0000# in standby mode + Send button
  • enter *585*0000 in standby mode + Call button
You will see on the screen:

Quote

TechMode started

Go to My Shortcuts -> you will see TechMode application.
You can see the TechMode application in Settings->Mobile Networks.

There are 3 screens in TechMode:
- GSM Channel
- GSM AMR
- GSM GPRS

To minimize TechMode push and hold return button.

Description of the TechMode here.

I just tried it om my W800 R1BC002 and the message TechMode started comes up. I just can't seem to find the menu. My phone language isn't english, so i don't know what or where the 'My Shortcuts' are....

edit
I just noticed that when i enter #585#0000# + send, a message comes up saying: Techmode Ended

TechMode = netmonitor in Nokia cellphones

Using this application you can see parameters of the base station you are using, quality of signal, distance to base station and others.
/sorry for my ugly english/

Works like a charm now !!! Thanks every one.

You can add the Techmenu to your quick menu by simply making a shortcut. Or you can do this in Far:

In the /tpa/preset/custom/ edit the customize.xml file and add:

<mmi>
<shortcuts>
<shortcut>TechMode</shortcut>
</shortcuts>
</mmi>

It doesn't work propetly.
If you add TechMode to shortcuts using customize.xml or customize_upgrade.xml you can see the link "TechMode" in My shortcuts, but if you will try to execute TechMode - nothing happends.
Wrong way i think. <-<

It seems like TechMode consists of two parts - module in firmware & user interface.
If you add TechMode using customize.xlm - module inside main doesn't executes.
Code *585*0000 executes module in main.
