The problem is with the radio implementation and not the Android system. We need SE to address this with a radio update which will hopefully be part of their next firmware release

I have had the X10i on Orange UK for 2 weeks in a low signal area at home. I too have suffered the exact issue shown in the video clips. WiFi turning on and off and scanning - and now I can recognise that it is linked to getting or losing a mobile network signal. Some improvement if I turn off 3G and also set to GSM only.

Just got my X10 mini home and mine starts 'connecting' but jumps straight to disconnected. Do I have the password wrong or is it the bug???

Got the same problem. Not a happy bunny and the sooner a gfizx is found the better. Its frustrating to say the least.

One solution was to download an app that stores IP addresses. No good. I can't get online to download them!

The strange issue is occurring in Xperia X10

I face strange issue . I face loss of connection

I travel in tube train daily in London UK for my office.. when in travel in underground train there will be no signal .. that is fine for me , but when train again comes back to normal ground level that too in the open area .. I will still NOT be having any signal .

I am travelling from Canary wharf to west ham .. when I reach west ham .. i will face the issue .. Then should I swtich the mobile and wait for me minutes and then again need to restart

But irritaing issue is after restarting it will not work sometimes .. we need wait till it work itself

Hi guys,

I've just updated my phone to build number R2BA020 and the wifi issue has been fixed. If your phone is branded (i.e. you bought it from an operator), you might have to wait several months for them to approve the new firmware. Or you can do what I did and debrand your phone to use the generic UK firmware.

I hope this helps.

I experience the bug the same way. Poor reception at home and the Wi-fi keeps resetting itself even though you can see the wi-fi signal is strong. I also first thought it might be my router, I got a D-Link DIR-685, but after having tried walking around the house with a laptop without it dropping once I'd definately say it's a phone issue. Also, in places with good GSM reception and a wi-fi network I havn't experienced it resetting.

Blog comment left by andy56_uk:

Well, I found out how to debrand the phone, and I've now got build R2BA020 on there. I still had problems connecting to my router, but after fiddling with the password length and un-hiding the SSID, I got connected. This only lasted about 30 minutes though, and now back to square one - I can't connect unless I reboot the rooter.
I have a Zoom router with an Acer laptop, a Dell laptop, a Belkin USB wireless dongle, an HTC Hero, and an HTC Desire all connected to the it quite happily, so this problem clearly lies with the SE Xperia X10i and not the router.

Blog comment left by Dom:

I had the very same problem.
Now my X10 can do the WiFi dance.
My solution:
Mate came round looked at it and found that my 'Wireless Station Access List' only allowed the listed MAC addresses to access the internet via WiFi.
Try to acces Wifi, used the WEP key but couldn't connect. This added the device to the list on my Netgear Router but didn't activate WiFi on it. Then I simply clicked on the 'dot' thingy next to the MAC address to add the device to the Access list and all was well, it worked.
I am happy. :)

Well my problem with Wifi is a little bit different. I can connect to my wifi and stay connected with an excellent signal but my x10 while connected to my wifi cannot use the internet....it just searches for a bit then says page cannot be found (yet wifi works fine at my business) Anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it?
