There was a documentary on the Discovery Channel not to long ago 'Mega structures?' and they were looking at the Emirates airlines service center in Dubai.
At the start of the program they informed you of the resting time for planes in normal service and the service intervals. There was a requirment for the plane to be rested for xhours ever xxhours.
One thing I didn't realise is that after x amount of flying time, the plane is stripped to nothing but the shell and is then tested for structural strength and rebuilt.
I did a quick google but couldn't find the information on the laws/with times.
