Theres not a lot of difference. The s500 can be flashed to w580.

W580 (inc s500@w580) has elfpack (by patch), s500 firmware doesnt.

Oh, hardware wise w580 has an accelerometer, and comes with a fitness metre application. S500 doesnt.

I would go for a w580 out of either of those phones
