Hello, i bought a v800 and debranded it to a z800.
All was happy days until i decided to change the faceplates to silver. Did this no problem but then wanted to change the whole cover as old one had scratches on. I undid the screws and managed to open the chasis.
Change the cover etc.... screwed it back up but now the external screen doesnt work and the phone doesnt turn on when the flip is opened. Im sure the screen is working but the connector has been lost that tells the main part of the phone that it has opened.
Does anybody have any ideas of what to do to fix this or i can pay a few bob for a repair.
Thankyou for helping.
WTD: Z800 repair or advice.

Hello, i imagine that you have just not connected something properly, you could probably fic it yourself. I will dig out the V800 hardware manual so you can have a look.

Took it apart again yesterday evening and have found that by touching the a connector on the left hand side of the phone that connects each bit of the flip (when looking at keyboard) with a magnetic ended screw driver then the external screen lights up! Wierd!!!

Yes indeed quite interesting, could be to do with capacitance (i love physics!)
I am afraid i dont have a V800/Z800 to test here, i will still see if i can get you the service manual though.
