Hi,
I want to update my W800 firmware but i have changed things that you can see in my signature, so i was wondering if i update my w800 firmware will i lose all the stuff that i have dun to my phone like the custom menu, no camera sound, expanded sms storage etc.

All I can say is yes. Unless its done through SEUS in which case you might be able to keep the stuff or only some of the hacks will go.

Yep SEUS = Sony Ericsson Update Service. The w810 driver is the no hissing acoustic fix. Camera drivers you can get of esato. THe no scrollbars and thin fonts is a layout.xml file of top sony. The rest i patched up with the latest sefp and vkp patches. Look in the se flash plugin thread for more info.

P.S You might want to backup the files you have modded. My k750 has been flashed 10 times and I'm glad i kept backups.

Oh thats a lot of time to have flashed it considering i have never flashed mine, thanks for the help, i am installing the updater but its taking ages.

EDIT: Do you get the modded camera driver with the update firmware becuase i can't seem to find the latest camera driver on esato.

the only reason my k750 is flashed 10 times is because i messed it up a lot when experimenting but now i have it set up perfect as you can see

Oh thanks, which is the best 1 to get, sorry for asking so many questions but i haven't done a lot of modding before. Also for all the mods you did with the sefp and vkp patches, how do i get them to work and i can i do it with a usb cable?

I think the cerdede is the best one to get (in page range 20-last, sorry cant remember where and the forum software on esato is rubbish)

Here is the R1A044's camdriver we've just extracted & modified, mimic, shadowdams, dekson, sinklar and me (cerdede2000)

The mods with the sefp are more advanced. You need the latest w800 firmware (R1BC002 EMEA/EUROPE/EU2) and the patches just need to be copied to the flash folder of your phone with the latest SEFP (V10) using the standard usb cable. Obtaining the patches are a bit long so look in the thread Se flash plugin and reply with the ones you want and ill attach them up.

Sorry. the camera driver needs to be installed in the /ifs/settings/camera folder. Make a backup of the original 1st.

Thanks, I just had a look at the info inside the camdriver u just put up and it has loads of info like "Clara camera driver setup file, etc" but then i look at my one and it had nothing like that. I would like all the ones you have that i can use with a usb cable if that isn't a problem. Thanks

P.S. Y is it taking so long for the SEUS to install onto my computer, its taken about 30 mins and it still hasn't completed.

SEUS does not take that long to install afaik. I run on a 700 MHZ computer with 128MB ram (i have no plans on upgrading ) but installing took me about 15 mins and starting up the program takes another 15 mins on the 1st go. Check the task manager. Something is probably hung.
But here is the sefp patches i have:
One is to use the radio without the headset (useless in the uk though (you can only hear hissing))
One is to get rid of the java securty prompts.
One changes the directory where java games is installed to the other/ams folder so you can send and backup your games.
One turns the allowed callers list (whitelist) into a black list so you can add numbers to block instead of adding numbers to allow (Like it used to be)
One changes the place where walkman playlists are stored to the memory card (i use this patch with benz's walkman playlist manager and it's great)

Thanks for all of them, i just put the camera driver on, i was experiencing sum trouble at first becuase it would focus and it wouldn't take a picture but it seems ok now. I have an AMD dual core processor with 1 gig ram and it just doesn't seem to be installing it. SO can i put all those patches on using FAR after i have put the new firmware on.

Yep. Make sure though the firmware is R1BC002 EMEA unless you want to kill your phone.
Installing the patches is very easy.
1. Extract the patches to a easy to remember place.
2. Connect your phone up to the SEFP but go to the FLASH folder instead of FS - IF it says dcu-60 not supported; stop and upgrade to the latest version
3. Copy the vkp files to the phone, press enter and choose yes. Do the ones you want and then quit far and disconnect the phone.

Ok thanks, how exactly do i make sure i put the R1BC002 EMEA firmware on my phone or do i select that i want to put that on my phone when the SEUS is loaded?

SEUS tells you which firmware it's gonna put on the phone (Which is always the latest - in this case is R1BC002).You dont get a choice . You are in the uk so you most likely bought your phone in the uk so it will give you the emea firmware.
In the very rare case it doesnt, you can use davinci to flash the phone to what ever region you want ( i experimented with the APAC f/w for a while before returning to EMEA).

Ok well when SEUS wants to finish installing i will do that and i did buy my phone in this country. I just canceled the installion twice and both times it said only 17 successful files had been installed, maybe my computer has a problem with it.

There is something odd then. On this slow old computer it installed fine once. And on my sisters 2.8 gb Pentium 4 Ht, 1gb of ram it installed fine.But if you flash with davinci you will lose all your data. Which is why i recomennd seus (is there no other computer you could use it on?).

Yeah i have my old computer which i could use but that means i would have to install the flash driver and SEUS but i will try it now and if it doesn't work i will get back to you.

Oh right, well i had to download it seperatly when using FAR.

I don't believe it, it downloaded fine on my sisters laptop, it must be something to with my flash player or something.

Oh for gods sake, whenever i press and hold C and put the usb cable in it just turns my phone on, but on normal computer it stay off how it is supposed to. Any help?
