960i Freezes

I have recently started using push email on my 960i, and it has become a bit unstable, freezes a lot, almost like its overloaded. Before email it was fine. I m using settings supplied from SE. I would like to do a reset, but coincidentally i am not able to complete a back up in the pc suite, it hangs when it gets to settings, Again it has worked previously. PC suite downloaded from SE site.
Should i start by re installing the PC suite and go from there or does anyone have any experience with these problems please?
