Hi i have just bought an sony ericsson w350i and plugged it into sony pc suite did the normal update everything was ok untill i turned phone on its now french and will not except a uk sim card
any ideas on how to fix this problem it worked ok before on t mobile and was in english.

Weird, unless the phone came from abroad? Would explain why it went french anyway

It sounds like youre going to have to unlock it first to get it working. Use an online service such as davinci or ultimate unlocker.
As for the language, I would take a guess at its set at "according to SIM", and since it cant read the SIM correctly its reverted back to french. So, heres what to do:
(NOTE: instructions are for my k800 and w595 which is the same method)
Press menu (normally middle button in the D pad) and go to settings (french word: Réglages), then Language (French word: Langue), then Phone language (Langue du téléphone) and (pretty needless to say) select english (or whatever language you speak: languages are listed by what they are called in their own language)
