Hi,

New here and hoping someone can help. I've already posted this in the hardware section so apologies for the repeat

I've just bought a used w880i handset which was locked to t-mobile. I've had it unlocked and have noticed a problem with the backlight which seems to have a regular delay of 15 seconds before coming on from rest. I'm not sure if this problem was there before as I could only test the phones functionality once unlocked. I've emailed the guy I bought it from who (unsurprisingly) says it was fine for him.

Does this sound like a fault with the hardware/firmware or is there a setting one can use to alter the delay? The guy who unlocked my phone hinted that there may be some form of hidden manufacturers menu in which these adjustments can be made. and someone else said there may be some for of patch for this.

I would be grateful for any advice/input.

PS- i'm somewhat technologically inept and am a bit unsure what flashing/firmware/patch etc means
