I have a W910i and Im pretty experienced with a2tool ... etc.

Today evenin one girl was telling me about her W580i screen problem. The phone was fully functional except the screen was blank (blank as in it was lit up but displaying a black image). My first thought was that either the screen was damaged or the screen cable was loose.

So I took the W580i home, and first tried updating the firmware via SEUS (formality sake ... lol). While it was downloading the firmware, I went for a bath. I came back and found that the update failed at 80% ... Im not sure whether it flashed anything or not. I unplugged it and tried putting the phone on and got no response ... I tried connecting it to SEUS again but again it isnt detecting it.

I doubt the GDFS is corrupt cause Im not getting any blinking red light ..... but the phone isnt charging with my W910 charger either. Now what ??? My reputation is at stake .... ;)

NOTE - I tried removing the battery for a minute with no success.

try conecting it with setool. But don't hold "c", hold 2 and 5, when you plug in the data cable.

Since you connected it to SEUS, it's most probably become CID53. You'll have to use JDFlasher now. Try to charge the battery on your W910?

I tried JDFlasher too .... but its behaving absolutely dead. No response from it .... The phone should atleast do something, atleast charge.

The charger works fine on my W910i .... I tried it so it supposedly works. I further cleaned the W580i charging port as well as the charging pins, no luck at all. Any better ideas ??

W910i = BST39
W580i = BST38

Wouldnt it be risky ?? I'll give it a try though .....

Same thing just happened to me, i'm not sure if the battery is able to charge anymore.. and the phone isn't recongized in the sony updater. The phone does get detected in XS++.. here's my log/specs:

23:28:24| Firmware Version: R7AC001

How should i proceed in order to fix the phone and get it booting again?

(my update only got passed the "clearing memory/contracts" stage before i got the low battery error and everything stopped working from there.)

Is it possible that my GDFS is corrupt? or is it my flash memory..
Sorry if this is thread hi-jacking but our problems are very similar.

You really should try to charge it before continuing, or you should use a Service Cable :)

I can get it detected and start the flashing process.. but i lose the connection within 3 and a half minutes every time.

I've tried different computers and drivers. I'm going to order a new battery and see how that goes.

EDIT:

I have not backed up my GDFS (CID53 here.. not sure if jdflasher can do it..) will my phone be okay?

You can't back-up the GDFS for free on CID53 :(. Is your USB cable damaged or does it always disconnect after 3 minutes?

The USB cable is new, and it always disconnects.

How do i know my EROM isn't already dead? There's so many things that could have gone wrong with using SEUS.. (correct?)

God i hope it's just the battery.
