What is your single most important suggestion for Sony Ericsson at the moment?

Start building reliable handsets with strong housings and without bugs.

Yeah sure. And who will buy a new model next year then?

Try keeping to just one or two OS's, for your own sake. While it may widen their marketshare it's obvious that some of their phones aren't getting anywhere near as much attention as they should be. If a 15 year old kid can work that out and :se: can't there's obviously something wrong.
Secondly they really need to get their RRPs sorted out realistically, it's nice to see that the C510 is well priced but so many of their phones are with phones in a completely different league.
It would also be nice to see some real innovation in their products that I haven't seen in a long while and separate their products slightly more.
I'm not going to mention the obvious, including the bugs found in current phones and poor build quality because everyone's now aware of that, but :se: have the potential for so much and from the customers point of vue they just seem to be wasting their efforts.

Good suggestions so far! Keep them coming.

My own suggestion would be to start leading the pack again instead of following. I mean their handsets are nice, but they just don't have the wow factor that they used to have. I want to see handsets that really make me ignore the competition instead of wanting to compare with them.

Listen to user feedback, actual users that is, not focus groups or other toddle like that. I also like the point about focusing on one or two OSes. Android and Symbian will do nicely.

1. First and foremost, they should lower their prices a bit like they were before. That increases sales.

2. They should put an end to their partnership with Sagem and improve their low-enders.

3. Should improve the reliability of their products. Their OS are not particularly stable anymore.

4. Should receive feedback and listen what their customers have to say. They ignored all petitions regarding the release of stable firmwares for their models.

5. Even if a model belongs to a particular series i.e. W, C, G etc, it should have all good functions. Some of their W-series phones are no longer good all-rounders since they lack autofocus. So those who are music lovers but want a good camera too will not be satisfied with them.

6. Should focus less on advertising and more on quality. Its quality that speaks.

imo they should make fone like they used to in the past and also lower the prices.......
just look at the X1 it's priced at Rs.40000 here in india and nokia is selling 5800 for Rs.18000
ok i am not comparing 5800 with X1 but 5800 has all the functions as X1 except the keyboard + some more than X1, and as scots said 5800 got the wow factor and just look how big hit it is........if X1 was priced correctly it would become a super hit ^-^

and also they should decrease the huge gap between fone announcement and release

and most important one is :se: should create new post in their R&D department to frequently check SE-NSE forums

BTW a very nice thread scots....... :good:

1. Some SE-Center here in Indonesia having a bad service. Not quick enough. I got my w830 lose it flexi cable and i bring it to SE,i have to wait until 4months for it repaired, and my friend 9months (same probs).Fix this ASAP if SE care bout the customer.
2. I want a better fast port quality.Mine after 6 months was broke, the headset, charger, wont stay at the port anymore.I dont want to bring this to SE-Center bcoz they had a long service time as usually.Better i pay 4US$ to my friend that can fix it in hour.
3. Please lower the price and make it stabil.
4. Make all phone able to change the housing (express on covers) like j230,k510 etc.

5. Dont downgrage the camera (hardware). Ok u remove autofocus because of the trademark w,g,s,z or something else. But, at lease dont reduce camera focal length. W700 got 4,3 (even its better than k550 @ 3,8 as i remember).w830 got 3,8.and now g502 got 3,2. The pic are getting worst.

Thanks for made a great phone

I wouldn't use Symbian, I'd say continue the A2 OS :). It's great and finally stable on the newer A2 phones, and if they use Symbian, they're like Nokia

But Symbian S60 FP2 rocks man. It has the theme effect, Naviwheel etc :(

I'd say Symbian S60 is much better than A2 OS. First of all, though S60 is slower, it's much more stable. Secondly, S60 is very fun as it has many apps awaiting you to install. Unlike SE, we only have Javas :(

(I only own 1 SE out of my 5 phones i ever own xD)

Yeah, but you use W910/K850, not exactly the best example for the A2 OS :p

I was meaning Symbian and Android for smartphones, not regular feature phones.

The announcement/release timescale is a good one to mention! I agree that it's ridiculous to be announcing a product 10 months to a year before it actually goes on sale!

Is he really? I guess he is not reading carefully enough since SE has not shown appreciable response to what users demand

There are many highly advanced Java apps which don't run on S60.
Moreover, S60 is not absolutely reliable and slow speed is a very annoying issue.
To brief it all, S60 is not as good as you pretend.

I would like to see :se: making an official ElfPack  (or am I just being utopic :p)

Bizarre, my W595 runs smoothly with a 4GB card.

The PC Suite could have an update too that it can restore the back-uped text messages
