Hi all,

My K800i stopped working due to White Screen of Death (WSOD - This seems to be the perennial issue with these models and I wonder why SE does not have an easy troubleshooting/fix procedure at their site. Hopeless Customer helpful Company).

After researching a bit, I came across many good threads in this forum and followed the flashing (using XS++ v3.1) after backing up GDFS.

Though the flashing was successful, I still have the Phone with the same issue (White Screen blinking on/off). Please find below the log of XS++.

There seems to be some issue with the Main or FS or Custpack selected by me. I used K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52 and K800_R8BA024_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED52 for Main and FS files.

I tried with Custpack: HONG_KONG (CDA102511/85) (K800) intially. It did not work. Reflashed with Custpack: EUROPE_3 (CDA102511/32) (K800) & later Custpack: EUROPE_4 (CDA102511/101) (K800). It did not work with them also. Finally tried with Custpack: HONG_KONG (CDA102511/85) (K800) again. No success.

Can someone please help. Also please let me know, whether the flasing needs to be done with the SIM and the Memory Card. I am sure the latter is not required to be inside the phone. My phone is not locked to any network. Your help is much appreciated.

If the Main or FS or the Custpack is the rootcause, can someone please point me to the location of the right files.

Do you have a GDFS backup from your phone before the WSOD??

Sorry, I don't have the GDFS prior to WSOD

Though I flashed the EROM with K800_RED_CID52_R3B025_EROM-FOTA, why is that XS++ identify the EROM still as R3A016 (after successful EROM flash). Please find below the log of XS++

Thats GDFS damage (hence the WSOD)

as Cchaos says your gdfs is damaged but it can be fixed pretty easy sometimes

Thanks folks. Looks like the issue is with GDFS as my multiple efforts with diffrent Main/FS/CDA files do not get the Phone out of WSOD (Eventhough each flashing is successful either through XS++ or SE Tool)
