The file we need is named 2000F68C.txt, which is located in z:/private/10202be9. Using CapsSwitch we can copy it elsewhere and now lets have a look at it:
# 20000F68C.txt # # Messaging hardware key customization # cenrep version 1 [PlatSec] cap_rd=AlwaysPass cap_wr=AlwaysPass [Main] 0x000 int 0x100051E3 0 # Application UID 0x001 int 0x1000520F 0 # View UID - set to 0 to open the app at the default view.
The relevant part is under [Main], where we just change the default Application UID to our desired one. Lets try the "Media" application. Application UIDs can be displayed with Swiss Manager, listing "Media" as "20007083". I haven´t found a way to display the View UID so we set it to "0", thus opening the app at the default view. The result looks like this:
# 20000F68C.txt # # Messaging hardware key customization # cenrep version 1 [PlatSec] cap_rd=AlwaysPass cap_wr=AlwaysPass [Main] 0x000 int 0x20007083 0 # Application UID 0x001 int 0 0 # View UID - set to 0 to open the app at the default view.
Save, and we´re good to go. Copy the modified file to c:/private/10202be9 and restart the phone. Done. Pressing the messaging key now will start the media application, or if it is already running in the background call it up.
Attached are the original file (1) and a modified one for media (2).
