i just started patching my phone a few days ago and i just want to seek an advice/guide from experts here to make my phone awesome!!! i will be posting all my questions and concerns here in this thread and i hope someone will spend some of their precious time to my post.


first of all, im a super noob in this patching/modding thing. i have a k800 phone, with cid53 r8bf003 firmware that's why it take sometime for me to be able to patch my phone. so here are my questions:


1. where can i get the latest and awesome menu packs that is compatible for my phone?? could you please suggest some of the greatest menu packs that you have tried? i tried ultimate vista for k800 and it's awesome but if there are other menu packs better than that please tell me where can i get it. is it really possible to put gif icons on my k800 without flashing it to k810? hope there's a windows 7 menu pack available here.

2. what is the best and latest cam driver as of now? is there a cam driver that will allow you to record video in mp4 format??

3. what is the best and latest sound driver so far? i tried hemo but there's to much hiss on it. i also tried zapf thumps and peter's v2 k800 but still im not satisfied with it. i want a sound driver with loud, clear sound and no hissing, cracking in full volume. i've heard that when you replace your preinstalled sound driver, your message alert tone will play much longer when you receive an sms but it does not happen to my phone when i tried several acoustic driver. please teach me how can i make my sms alert tone to play much longer. btw, does changing my sound driver will easily drain my battery say i installed a much louder sound driver??

4. is it possible to remove those bars in k800 screen. i mean those bars where signal and battery icon, and menu and call icons are located.

5. so i installed an ultimate vista for my k800. i want to know how do i change my k800 soft keys like for example if i click the left soft key, menu icons will show instead of calls vice versa.

6. do i need far manager to install elf files on my phone?

7. do you have a much better monotype corsiva font here coz i have downloaded corsiva in other site, it's good but the problem is you can hardly read the text in inbox. hope there's also a san seriff font for k800.

8. in vista transformation pack that i have downloaded for k800, in calls and media player folder, there are files with png files on it but what confuses me is that there is also a folder there named R8BF with png, imt and vkp file inside. so my question is where do i have to put those files in R8BF folders? do i have to put those png files along with those files in r8bf folder in walkman skin path???

You can use gif icons for the menu without flashing to 810. For menu packs, try looking in the Downloads section.

For a camdriver, you could try Raiderski's latest. To record in mp4 you need to patch it.

Sound drivers are a matter of personal taste IMO. Try a few and see what you like. Changing acoustic drivers don't affect battery life.

Yes. There is an elf to remove those icons in the status bar and various other patches and elfs to modify soft keys.

As above. There are various ways to modify soft keys. By patching with "Additional Shortcuts" patch you can change the function of those keys and with "AdvSoftKeys elf" you can add the middle button and change the labels.

You'll need FAR + JDFlasher to apply the elf patches but the *.elf files themselves can be transferred to the phone any way you like.

Search the forum for Diezel's fonts.

The *.imt file is the IMGToolDB2020 project file. The *.vkp is the GFX Patch made by IMGTool and the pngs are there to use by "SYSGFX" patch or to use with IMGTool to create your own patch.

hmm, i don't understand your answer in number 8. maybe i shouldn't try applying patches in my phone coz i've heard that if i make a mistake in patching, my phone will be bricked and that would be a big problem for me coz jdflasher has no back up gdfs option. thanx everybody for helping me!! gud day!!!

i want to ask if i can use the walkman 2.0 skins in my phone now. i tried patching my phone with this patch that i found in this link k800 r8bf003 walkman 2.0 patch , post #170 by markross but the color of my music player is still the same although it shows the cover of the mp3. somebody please tell me how do i change my default music player skin. also please tell me how to change my battery and signal icon. can i change that also through patch only?? what about those .imt and png files where do i put them????? also please tell me what should i do so that my my phone's desktop would have a desktop like in this link vista desktop which shows an analog clock,calendar etc . and in english if possible. please please help!!!

afaik, its for changing layout only...
battery and signal can be changed using some patches, also using sysgfx patches, though i pr4efer the normal patches over the sysgfx one
desktop in that link is a MOD pack where u have to download some files and upload as mentioned in the pack istself

thanx for fast reply!!! is there a way to change it's skin especially like the one in that post by markross. i tried downloading some walkman 2.0 skin and then i upload it in my phone but still the skin haven't change. do you know some elves or patch that would make my k800's desktop look like that coz i don't think that file is compatible in my phone coz when i download that pack, it has swf files which i think my phone doesn't support and even the theme is not compatible in my phone and it's russian. please give me links to where i can download walkman skin for my phone, patch for battery and signal icon and patch or elves that would make my k800's desktop look like the one in the link.

You cant skin the player in k800 or use flashlite. Everything else you need apart from signal/battery patches, is in my sig.

i've been seeing some awesome k800 vista desktop in youtube and SE forums and ive been asking for so long on how do i make my k800 look like this and this but still i don't get the right answer on what kind of patches,elves etc should i put in my phone and where do i get them. also i've seen in some forum that they were able to change their default music player into walkman player where you can also view the music cover just like in kd player walkman 2.0 skin. i tried the walkman patch and gfx patch but still my music players skin is still the same. could somebody please help me on how to do this properly??? do i have to flash my k800 to k810 to be able to use this desktops,music player etc??? or maybe i should be contented in what i have in my phone right now.

yes u'll have to remove the previous pack and use the one u downloaded from boysie. if u want to change media player to walkman i have attached all the necessary patches. u can use them if u like. this is walkman layout v1.1 from muskeeter.
remember to remove all the gfx patches before u apply the walkman gfx patch. it might conflict with the patch.

hmm, i wonder where's my last post. anyway, to boysie and bishal86, many many thanx to you guys for helping me!!! i've patched and installed elves in my phone successfully and it's awesome now although i would prefer if the analog clock, calendar etc is placed on the right side of my k800 desktop just like this one. if you know other patches and elves aside from the files that you've shared that would make my phone even better from start up, desktop ,shutdown etc, please share it to me and if possible with installation guide just like the ones that you've shared. also the walkman patch that bishal86 shared is superb and it would be even better if only it's full screen!!! i just hope that there would be an "add-on" for this patch in the near future where you can also view lyrics and most of all able to use the kd player skins. if that happens, then it would be considered as one of the ultimate patch in SE phones. more power to you guys!!!

you can get the analog clock to be where ever you want. just edit the coordinates.
most useful patches are included in Boysie's sig. if there is a collection of patches in the Patch Collecting (db2020) thread and K790/K800/K810 Patches thread.

u can get many cool elfs from the elf section.
there are a lot of startup and shutdown screens and sounds etc. u can try that. i am using iphone startup and shut down screen and eric cartman startup and shutdown sound

and u can make the media player menu into full screen. the patch is in the K790/K800/K810 Patches thread.
i would have uploaded it but i am not on my pc right now. read carefully before applying the patch. you will have to apply a gfx patch along with it.

Gfx patch is any patch that changes the graphic of ur phone. for eg. a patch that changes the battery icon in ur phone is a gfx patch.
i am uploading the full menu media player patch. apply both of them. also i have included megabass patches.

whenever u want to apply elf to ur phone u don't have to remove the older elves. u can keep them. just add the new ones.
did u also remove the elf patch?
the elf u r referring to is deskbar elf. i also have problem with this one. it makes my phone restart when ever i try to edit the shortcuts .

can i put fullscreen_player patch in my phone without player_background patch??? yep, i remove the elf patch in my phone just as boysie99 told me and instead i put the patch from his elfstarter kit that i've downloaded from his sig. so that patch didn't work also in your phone?? i wonder if it's really a valid elf.

when i patch the player_background patch, it says bytes mismatch and it asks me if i have to cancel it or continue and i chose cancel so the only patch that i put in my phone is the full_screen player patch but when i play music its not full screen. btw, can i delete games that i've saved in my card using far manager coz i can't delete some games and apps which has double entry?? may i know what path can i access this installed games using far?? thanx!!!!
