Hello SE-NSE community, I'm a newcomer here and I've read some of the threads and I've found that people here are very helpfull and surprisingly well mannered for the internet.

I have looked through the threads and to my knowledge I have not found any similar information to my problem.

My problem is, I dismantled my W800i because I was having a problem with my camera photo capture button, it would focus to take a picture but if you pressed it harder it wouldnt take the picture at all. I thought it was dust or something in the way so I opened up the phone and cleaned the aparatus, checked connections and put everything back togheather.
I popped in the battery but the phone would not start up, no sign of life at all, I hooked it up the the charger and I get an all white blank screen then it goes off, then the lights go on and sony ericsson logo goes on, then it goes off and starts with the blank white screen again, etc etc. always repeating this procedure.

If anyone might have an idea what is going on I would definately be interested in finding out, I won't thank anyone in advance because I will be back here to reply and thank you personally.

Any help would be appreciated and I might upload a video of the problem later.

I'm not going to tell you to check to see if all cables are connected properly (I'll leave that to someone else ;)) but I do know that more people have faced problems with the camera button. Apparently it has a tendency to jump out of place, several people were unable to take pictures yet did have the ability to 'focus' their camera. I believe it's even possible to 'push' it back into place whilst the phone's housing is closed, it's just a slightly annoying thing to do.

I suppose this isn't really your main problem right now but let's hope someone else will notice this thread who does have the ability to advise you as far as this is concerned. You could always contact gbrooks3 if you don't manage to get it working properly again, though I believe our technical service is paused at the moment.

Edit: Ah, nearly forgot to say Welcome ;)

Thanks for the reply and thanks for the welcome, it is good to see that the camera problem is a common one.

EDIT: after much oldschool fixing (whacking it really hard) it has started to function once again, however my camera button is still being evil to be, i have to rub it a little to the side or it wont take a picture, guess I will look around the forum for a solution to that, thank you for all your help.
