Hi,

I tried to update my k850 with Sony Ericsson Update Service, but no luck at all. I followed their instructions:
1. Connect USB cable to computer
2. Turn off phone and remove battery and place back it.
3. Hold "C" and then plug the USB to phone.

The software can't detect it.

Any suggestions?

Have you installed the correct drivers for your phone? is your cable working at al? check if the bottom of your phone is dirty. If it is, get it cleaned with som sort of alcohol.

i think you have forgotten the driver....thats the typical mistake

i'm not sure what driver i have on my PC... i installed the disc that was provided to me when I purchased the phone. Anywhere else I can download the drivers?

search in this forum...there are many answers to your question...you need a special flash driver...

Strange...the flash drivers should get installed along with SEUS.
SE would be stupid if they would provide SEUS without the flash drivers

They should be installed. Sometimes they don't install correctly though.

i read through the threads on this type of issue, and their problem relates to generic flash drive. When i plug in my k850, my Windows XP detects it's a Sony and it goes to Mass Storage mode.
