Hey, what you're doing is fine. What you do then is access bflash and then flash the rest file and the qapatch. This should wake your phone up. If not then flash the main file and the qapatch. Then continue! Sorry been away for about a week!
I tried to acces bflash and then tried to flash .rest and qapatch but my phone ias still death :/

i had also tried plash main only then booted my phone and run executor.jar then flashed qapatch but phone was again death :/

any ideas how to fix this? :(

Quick question before I try to do this. In step 1

Quote

Copy the updated qa2020.xml script to the JD-flasher/Script Directory
Does this updated file come from the anycid folder? This is the only place I saw it and just wanted to double check.

Also, in step 6, how do I open oflash? I don't see any application named oflash and just want to make sure I understand what I am doing before I begin.
Thanks

ok, yes, you copy the file from there and paste it here:

*notice the address bar, it shows where the qa2020.xml is supposed to be...

"Oflash" is actually inside the jdflasher. What you'll need to do is:
1. Open Far manager.
2. press F11 on keyboard, select "jdflasher"

Here's a pic for explaining next steps:
Posted Image
3. it prompts with several options, make sure you select script "db2020", port "DCU-60", speed 921600.
4. Click "jump down into a large rabbit-hole", connect phone while pressing the phone "C"-key.
5. Once you're inside, you'll see two directories, oflash and ofs.
6. double click on oflash and once you're in there, you can continue onto step 6 in the main tutorial...

Hope that helps.
thx ;)

ok, problem! In step 6 I get this error.
Attached File  Parallels_Picture.png   22.98K   65 downloads

What can I do? I am using all your files.
I have tried multiple times and it will give me that error while flashing. The farthest I have gotten is to block 70...
Phone is now a brick... ill keep trying

W580_R8BE001_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED53.mbn

It says to drag MAIN into oflash... Is this correct.

Ok, here's a mirror to all of the same files as in tutorial, in same order, except they're on rapidshare.com, on my premium account, won't get deleted.
Here they are:
MAIN
FS
Custom Pack
Rest File
Quick Access Patch
AnyCid Software

Thanks for mirroring those files. I'll add the links to the main page soon. Can you mirror far too please, thanks!

Try using my version of Far (see first post). I can also recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the flash drivers.

Ok.. I reinstalled the drivers. Tried versions from a few sites with no luck. I will try from a different computer tomorrow. Has anyone had trouble like this flashing before?

Yes the phone is cid 53. What is the best way to verify this?

I have updated the drivers, tried on different computers, but the flash keeps failing part way through for no apparent reason. It is always at a different point and gives the same error. Any suggestions?

well, the way i checked the cid on my phone was when i connected the phone to comp and when it caught the phone in jdflasher, it stated the cid. But way before using jdflasher, i tried unlocking my phone with setool2lite and when I tried to flash it, it showed me my cid. Btw, setool2lite doesn't flash cid53 phones, only cid52..
and regarding that it gives you errors at some points, i dunno, mayb there's some connection problem with your cable.. how old is it?

That wouldn't make a difference as CID52 phones can use CID53 software.

Try redownloading the file that's causing problems. Sometimes it downloads badly! Also try different USB ports.

If you can connect, the cable won't be bad.

Also on a side note. In a week or so, I'm reflashing everything on my phone and will therefore by adding pictures to the tutorial!

I've tried redownloading everything, the flash still fails part way through the flash.
This happens on all usb ports and on two different computers I have tried.
I have been charging the phone to make sure it has full charge, however I can't really tell if it is even charging now because nothing indicates it is charging when I plug it into the wall.

I tried using SEUS to update the phone and it recognizes it but at about 50% I get an error and it doesn't work. This is very frustrating...

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help

Yes, try connecting using 2 and 5 instead of C. sometimes it works better for me, that way!
