I have a Sony Ericsson w300i and want to use the patch which will remove the camera shutter sound. I assume that to do this I must first flash the firmware. On XS++ It says:

I am going to use W300_R4EA031_MAIN_GENERIC_JE_RED49.mbn to flash my firmware. However, as for my filesystem firmware, I cannot find it anywhere. This begs the question, am I able to use just any FS firmware (for a w300i), or do I need to have the W300_R4EA031_FS_ROGERS_RED49 file? 'cause I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll try that now. Do I need to debrand my phone before I flash this? I've never heard of debranding until I scrolled to page 2 in the Firmware Tutorials & Guides forum.

To patch yes, as all patches are made for generic firmware, by flashing generic firmware to the phone you are debranding it.
