hi

I've a k800i and every time i try to turn it on it only vibrates and when i plug the AC adapter a red led near the irda flashes

from what I've read that's due the erom being corrupt?

so I've tried to upgrade my erom (with this erom) using xs++ and setools lite but none of them seem to work.

It says that flashing process was successful but when i try to turn it on it stays the same (dead)

TRy to charge it first...if that doesnt work download the same erom that you have on your phone(cid 52)and flash it with xs++ or setool..probably there is some tut....if that doesnt work open setool,connect phone with key 2 and 5 and press unlock/repair

PS: what's the difference between connecting the phone with "2" and "5" and connecting with "C"?

2 an 5 is bootroom mode (normaly use it when the c button wont work or u have a damged gdfs )

Try to to flash your old GDFS Backup.
maybe you have a chance to flash your phone!

Erom seems to be alright! Just flash (full flash) MAIN and FS file system, followed by your own original GDFS backup and proper custom pack, then it's back to normal!

I don't have any GDFS backup when i got the phone it was already dead (a friend of mine gave me this phone)

Main and FS file system those have to be my own backp up too?

it's absolutely not advisable to flash a gdfs other than mine right?

What else can i do?

i think i have the same problem, but my end result is somewhat different. i got a R8BF003_China. But when i falshed the main, it says 'insert correct sim card'. When i looked in the service menu i found that the network have been locked. How come this happen?

NEVER EVER flash another GDFS apart from your own.

Did you have a locked phone before you flashed?

The locking is on the phone itself, so you got to unlock it by patch.

i've tried everything and nothing so i decided to try something different "Sony ericsson update service" but still nothing it just upgraded my erom from cid52 to cid53

i guess this is the end of the line no more hopes for this phone?

Have you tried flashing a totally different set of firmwares?

Note that since now you got CID53, you need firmwares that end with "_RED53", and you need to use JDFlasher with FAR Manager.

CID53 has alot of features gone. (SEUS...) You can only use FAR Manager with JDFlasher to flash it now - its the only free CID53 windows tool so far.
