I'm using desktop.cfg with mixed success.
I tried it out with big icons, icons that are always at the same position and thus overlapping each other.
Typically those icons contain all the icons but only one in active mode and the other ones in deactived modus .
It was rather slow when changing from one icon to another one, so I decided to work with small icons each at their own position ([OtstypX] <> 0 and [OtstypY] <> 0).
This works too and a lot faster but the enterkey was set at DEL.
Because of some problem I wanted to change the enterkey and then I started off with keycodes (0x05, 0x1F) but none of them worked. Well now I found out why , those keycodes will work if you work the big icons overlapping each other but not with the smaller ones.
I've been looking for the key names such as DEL, ENTER instead of the keyodes but I cannot find them.
So my question is if somebody has those names (hoping they will work with small icons).

Because of the trouble I have with desktop I was looking at a replacement and so I found out about fastbar but I have a K810 and even version 0.3 beta does not work , it starts and you can stop it but it doesn't show one icon.
I've read comments from another user having the same problem with his K810.
Does anybody if this can be solved?

Are there any other good replacements for desktop ?

regards

To choose de ENTERKEY you needo know about your Keycodes.
There is a Elf (Keymode.elf) show the Keycodes.
Put the Keycode here:

[ENTERKEY] 0x08(example in the W580)

To change the icons positions change:

Choose the parameters between:
Example:
X¹ 150
X² 165
Y¹ 175
Y² 190

This show the icons in the center of screen.

X1, Y1 show the start top left coordinates of the first icon, for each next icon, it adds OtstypX after the end of the previous image and then draws the second image, and so on.
Once it hits the end of the screen, it starts drawing the second row of icons, where the first image top left coords are X2, Y2. The difference in height from the first row of icons to the second row of icons is OtstypY.

That's from my previous experiments.

I already knew about the X1, X2 and so on and at last I've foun dmy problem.
It has nothing to do with what ions are used but on the way I enter a new value for the ENTERKEY
you can use DEL
or a HEX CODE but this has to be followed by a semi-colon.
I've put one a semi-colon after a DEL and than it didn't work so I always forgot to put a semi-colob after values such as 0x05. Now since I've put the ; after it, everything works.
