Hi,

something weird happened today. I was trying a friend's smartcard in my debranded/unlocked phone and after putting it inside and removing it, my phone stopped working (when I press the turn-off switch it just vibrates).

If I use XS++ or SEtool lite I can still see it so something must be still alive.

I have the firmware and the GDFS backup. What should I do?

I was thinking to go back to the shop but any help would be great.

Sounds great.

To proceed I guess I need to find somebody that can charge my battery.

When I try to charge it through my phone, nothing seems to happen and I no idea if it is charging or not.

Fortunately I have a colleague with the same phone.

Just a curiosity: why changing the sim card bricked my phone?

It could be because your phone is Network LOCKED, but it could also be a mishandling.

Oh and by the way, since you have a CID52 R8BE001 phone and it has been debranded, you can actually do loads of stuff to your phone, such as patching, adding flash menus, etc.

I thought I unlocked the phone to allow more sims (I used it in Europa as a matter of fact).

Thanks for the tips. How do I start with the mods? I guess I need to learn how to use JDflasher...
Right now I am only comfortable with XS++ (3.1). I only used SETool lite to unlock phone (so I am not skilled on this tool either).

But I programmed on the ARM processors before. Very low level stuff on ARM7, ARM720, ARM946.
So I see big value in messing up with asm.

But I don't know much about how the firmware is organized, memory mapping ... Probably by the time I know something I will have changed the phone twice. Too bad because my short term wish is to write an application that uses the phone uart port to connect to the my car obd2 (iso), read the necessary PIDs and gives me real time data about MPG (so I can save some miles, hypermile...).

Yes, you should learn JDFlasher as well as SETool2Lite. They're both gonna be pretty darn easy for you. Just search around for guides, there are plenty.

I'm not sure if you have heard of ELFs, but these are programs that can interact with the phone directly, not through an engine like JAVA, and are programmed in a C-type of language.
