Fake Memory Sticks Opinion about 'em Rate Topic: -----

Hi,
I was wondering if you recommend the use of fake memory sticks. Im going to buy thru "mercado livre" (ebay in brazil) and mostly MS there are supposed to be fake. Its hard for anyone to say if the use of fake MS can really damage the phone, mainly because depends of each case. What I want as awnser here is like "which was the most terrible consequence of using a fake memory stick".

The people that sell them misleadingly are scumbags. Thats my opinion.

once i got a fake ms pro duo and it literary killed my fone....i flashed full flash[main and fs both] to make my fone working correctly again
dunno why this happened

so i say dont buy it.....
W810i,W595i,Nokia 6288,What's next?......Maybe Aino !

dont buy fake memory cards...i had lot of problems with it...
due to fake memory cards the images taken from camera saved corrupted...it has problem while listening music.....i taught that the phone had problem...but after switching to original card..no problems at all.........
W810-R4EA031,more than 130 flash menus,working patches,elfs,TVH bass edition acoustics, samrad 6 cam driver.

Same thing happened with me and i thought it was my fone then after changing MS it become normal again!!

get N95 8GB or W980, and you wouldn't kick a fuss about buying memory sticks ;)

Same. Sometimes even the build quality is so bad that when I tried to unlock my SD card, the whole switch thing broke off and it was locked forever. :(

O_O like i say, depend on phone memory so that you don't need to think so much about is the memory stick fake, spoil or what ever problems

It was a nokia and you were using SD card? Some nokias has a function to lock the card with a password, but if you miss it too much you end up with a locked card forever. You could not format it thru pc or via phone (it asked for the password). I ended up fixing it by formatting it into a N73.

i have 1 fake 1gb card, and dunn0 why it takes 1mb space for reading 100kb things... and so on. so i left and bought original MSPD.

Nah, I used it for my camera. It was still usable with CHDK on my late Powershot A620, but it dropped down a hill and its gone now. Waiting for CHDK to support my new A590IS. =X

Fake MS leads to corrupted data, write failures, etc. I've been tricked to buying two on ebay at different times, and they aren't great.
