My apologies if I am doing something wrong but this is my first posting. Please correct me if necessary.
I have just debranded my K800i using XS++ and now it won't recognise my Tmobile SIM. The phone was on Orange but unlocked and did work on Tmobile until I debranded it.
I have checked my procedure with XS++ but as far as I can see I did it correctly.
The files I used were;
K800_R1JG001_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn
and
K800_R1JG001_FS_EUROPE_1_RED52.fbn

Have I overlooked something or done something wrong?
Please be patient, I'm 70 years old!

Hi there! And welcome to the site

Wow, and who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks - only joking

Seriously, all you need to do is download simoxautopatcher, uncompress it, open up the program, and drag the main file to the top window. It will generate the patch and tell you where it saved it. note down where its located (you need it for later on)

If you havent done so already. download setool2lite 1.11 (this one supports db2020 - your k800 etc) and add a quick access patch to the phone (theres two videos for you to watch on how to do this, and if I remember rightly it does cover this topic too). make sure you slect the correct phone model - k800

Next: rememebr that patch you generated? Well, now youre gonna use the QA (quick access) patch, so tick use QA, click on the button with the ... in it under misc, find the patch, and select write script

And volia, the phone should be unlocked

I've downloaded setool2lite but I can't findthe videos or simoxautopatcher, any pointers?
Do I understand that the process of debranding has now locked the phone again and the patch will remove it?

Well hello Fred!, It's always good to see people in all ages, so first of all, to sense!


HERE is a topic where you can find the most of the programs you will need.

Let me explain, when you bough your phone, it was "patch unlocked", which means that the firmware on it was modified to NOT to read the lock. After you flashed a new firmware, the old was overwritten and the patch was removed.


There should be the needed tutorials for you in the Tutorials Section here on sense. (Mainly the "How to apply patches to DB2020 phones with SE Tool 2 Lite" topics)

Quick procedure:
1. Generate the unlock patch with the Simox' Autopatcher. (Using the MAIN firmware you used to debrand, and that you will flash again).
2. Use SeTool2Lite to patch the unlock patch, (using Quick Access patch too, or if you only need to apply one patch, I would recommend to use the DB2020 break in function, this will totally destroy your main).
3. Turn on your phone..

Note: this was a quick procedure, the real one might be otherwise depending on how you chose to patch the phone.

Thats because you either havent bypassed the db2020 security or added the QA patch or selected the QA patch

If you have applied the Quick Access Patch, tick only the use quick access patch box and untick the Bypass db2020 security.

and vice versa.

EUREKA! It works.
I carefully went though each stage, reading the fine notes provided by SIMOX.
Each stage took me about 45mins but it was worth it.

Many thanks to all who offered help.
I can now let my brain return to it's normal tick over.
