Hi All,

I have been trying to tweak with my P1i and i have found that Windows Mobile is somewhat better than
the UIQ3 in terms of the Applications, usability and the level of system apps that you can modify.

Recently i was surfing and i came across that Windows Mobile 6 (CrossBow) was leaked and i was able to get that easily. This made me curious that can we try installing Windows Mobile 6 on P1i.
I know its a very difficult task to achieve and the systems might be incompatible, but i am not sure.

I have even seen some Linux based phones and Motorola is providing the Kernel as OpenSource.
If not Windows, i am ready to work on Linux too. But its impossible to start alone.
This will give us complete control over the phone every thing would be open to us

If other Modders and SE Gurus also think that this might be interesting and willing to go for it let me know.

Thanks,
CW

if youre going to port windows mobile to ur fone, you might nid to convert all of the driver to work for windows mobie. i think symbian driver are different from winmob...but i can't confirm that since im new in using uiq...im a windows mobile user and i just happen to receive a p990i...as of now im comparing my HTC wizard againt my P990i... if u still want to try porting winmob to ur device, there are so many dump ROM's or build roms (firmware in symbian world) that you can download. you can check xda-developers for it. i cant say winmob is better than symbian coz one feature is better than the other is some ways...but i can assure that winmobile is faster than uiq.

i´d rather see android running on the UIQ3 phones :)

and by the way, UIQ is NOT slow...its SE that does not update those phones hardware (still the same old 208mhz processor)

The P1 has roughly the same processor of n73, but 4 or five times more RAM...so...no contest whatsoever
