I have a K800i I just received today and am very happy. I used to have K750 brown that I flashed to red and all that so I could change the menus and have fun with it, but now with the K800i I am not completely sure I am ready to do that. here are the specs

Platform: DB2020
OTP CID: 49
EROM CID: 52
EROM Color: Red
IMEI: 35399601xxxxxx
Phone ID: K800
Region: S_ASIA_LEVAN
CDA: CDA102295/1 R2A
Firmware Version: R8BA024
EROM: R3A016

I have worked with Far manager with my K750 but when I did a quick search they said FAR was not yet ready for K800 (these were posts from 2006) Does it work now or do I have to use XS++ or something else to do this?

Thanks

Hi there.

I would use XS++ 3.1 for flashing
Setool2lite 1.11 for patching (needs the bypass security to patch and to make it even quicker add the quick access patch to the phone)

Also JDflasher is another good one to use (or so I hear/read, but I have not used this myself)

But I think FAR can do it? Im not 100% sure though

Thanks for the replies!

I did some research on the forum and took my chances with FAR, but not to flash, just to add themes, sounds, fonts, etc. So far working awesome. is there a file that makes the phone vibrate and flash its light when I miss a call/msg like the k750? or will that same one work for the K800? I really like that!

also I live in the US, but I have the S_ASIA_LEVAN in my phone. Is that a big deal?

Thanks

1. No, but there is one that vibrates when someone picks up the call.

2. No, unless you need other languages urgently apart from English. But you will need a matching custom pack from downloads section. HB1 custom packs are fine, it just has to have either K800 or HB1 in it as well as S_ASIA_LEVAN.

So when I call someone and they pick it up, it will vibrate?

nothing that will indicate a missed call? thats a real benefit IMO

1. Yes
2. There is a patch which gives you notifications somewhere in the K790/K800/K810 patches thread.
