Hi everyone!
I want to update my phone's firmware and I have a few questions:
1: I have these two MAIN files
W580_R8BE001_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52
W580_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52
which one is the latest?
Is W580_R8BE001_FS_AMERICA_2_RED52 the right FS?
and from these custpacks
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_16_R8A_GENERIC_AMERICA_2
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_107_R8A_GENERIC_AMERICA_2
which one I should use?
Here is the log from xs++:
XS++ v3.1 (Darwin) Ready !
Executed on Microsoft Windows XP
Attempting to open the interface...
TURN OFF PHONE!
Hold 'C' button on phone and connect phone NOW.
You have 30 seconds...

Protocol Version: 3.1
Phone name detected!
Profiling SEMC phone...
Platform: DB2020
OTP CID: 51
EROM CID: 52
EROM Color: Red
IMEI: XXXXXXXXxxxxxx
Phone ID: W580
Region: AMERICA_2
CDA: CDA102774/117 R3A
Firmware Version: R6BC002
EROM: R3A022

btw, doing this will erase everything from my phone?
thanks!
Ps : sorry if my english is not correct.

1. R8BE001 is the latest
2. The FS is right
3. Take the 107 custompack
Yes it will erase all files on the phones memory, but not ur sim. (settings will be gone too)

You can use R8BA024 if you want more mods

as per my personal experience, i once forgot to take out my sim and memory when flashing and guess what?
it didn't erase the data in my sim and memory card. i've done it 2x and still it didn't erase the data from sim and memory card.

I know it doesnt remove data from ur sim card nor memory card. just as I said above, only settings and phone memory will be emptied.

Well, thanks to all of you for the info.
I've successfully flashed my phone. Everything went great!!
Just a thing: I thought those *.itm files in the custpak were for configuration stuff or something like that...
Now I have an annoying wap link to SE in almost every submenu of the phone... How can I get rid of that?

In XS++ it has under customize file system, don't upload SE WAP links.
