When I power on the phone, I get "sim registration failed".

I've read that this propably means that the phone is stolen, or has been blocked due to a contract break.

This sucks because I paid 93£ for it on ebay, and the person who sold it to me said that it just had a simlock, and needed to be unlocked.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the imei of the phone, or perhapse knows where I can get info on how to do it?
Is it perhapse possible with a Setool3 box?

Yeah, I've tried.

Talked with the seller yesterday, but he just says that since he wrote "sold as defective, and no refund, or negative feedback", he won't give me a refund. Even though this clearly isn't a "defect". It's a bloody stolen phone.

I know this seems like a daft question but have you tried a different sim card on the same network?

Well I've tried a different simcard with a different provider.

The weird thing abouth the phone is that it worked the first couple of times I tried it. Then all of a sudden I got the "sim registration failed" message. I reflashed the phone, and then it worked again for about an hour before I got the message again. Now it won't work even if I flash it.

I had a problem with my W910i where it would restart, its to do with how the sim is inserted.
Try moving it around a bit.
It was a common problem with the W580s my friends own.

Well I did sign for it when I collected it from the post office.

But the phone was bought from England, and I live in Norway
