Checking Firmware Files

I recently unlocked and debranded my K800i with a lot of help from this forum. I have got a K750 locked to o2 and I would like to do a bit more practice with unlocking and flashing. The thing I still feel a bit unsure of is finding and selecting the the correct firmware.
So I used XS++ and collected this information from the log. K750, Europe 2, CID36, Colour Red,
CDA 102338/16 R14A, DB 2010.
Then I went to topsony and searching under K750 >CID36 >R1002_RED36 I found
K750 R1L002 FS EUROPE 2 CID36 which I think would be a useable FS, but the only Main that looked like it might be ok was K750_R1L002_MAIN_EU_1_CL_CID36
I am not really happy with the main as I would have thought it would have had GENERIC or something similar and the Colour and CID on the end.
Can someone tell me if I am on the right track or not.
Thanks

Yeah, you are on the right track, unfortunately in my search to find the firmware for this, it brought no results. And the newer ones brought no results as well. Anyone know what the most moddable K750 firmware is? I can't find a good main for R1DB001 either.

Sorry Guys can I just take this back a step. Are you saying that I should use the files I found or something else like W800 as suggested to steadyontherem8. Im still on the bottom rung of the ladder with this technology but Im enjoying the climb. Thanks for any help you can give.

Can I ask a question as I am interested to learn as much as I can. How are the W800 files compatible with the K750

Not true for K750, I got no search results for the latest firmware and ones about 3 firmwares back inclusive, for europe 2.
@bigbyte, they have the similar hardware and camera etc.

Out of interest I have visited Topsony again and looked at W800 firmware and can only find R1L002 with Brown colour. If my phone actually exists (as it does) and hasnt been modded before and is still locked to o2 how come it is difficult to find firmware for it? Is it rare in some way?

Ok thats great I am really happy to try and cross flash from K750 to run with W800 firmware. I have looked at the tutorials and would like to start but it takes me back to my earlier post. I would really like to find the correct firmware for my phone . Can you teach me how to find the correct firmware? I have looked on topsony and
I looked on iprotebe.cz for W800 for R1L002
and could only find
w800_r1l002_eu2.zip FS
w800_r1l002_zone1_standard.zip Main
are these any good?

W800_R1L002_MAIN_EU_1_CA_BROWN36 and W800_R1L002_FS_EMEA_2_BROWN36 is what you can use.

Thanks (steady) as a beginner I thought it was vital to stick with the colour as shown in XS++ log which in my case was RED. So I can make a patch in simloc using the main above.

One other thing you have chosen FS EMEA_2_BROWN if there is a FS EMEA_1_BROWN would that be a better match?

Your phone is RED, do not flash a BROWN MAIN
and AFAIK R1L002 is very very very buggy. I suggest clicking here. You won't need to go far to find the firmware you need

You can still use that link, just download the ones with the same name without BROWN.

Ok Guy's
Im glad I didnt get started on flashing yet.
I have been on the site and the available Mains (not BROWN) are:
W800_R1L002_MAIN_EU_1
W800_R1L002_ZONE1_STANDARD
and for FS (not BROWN) are:
W800_R1L002_EU2
W800_R1L002_FS_EMEA_1
W800_R1L002_FS_EMEA_2_CID36
Which Main and FS should I use? and what does EMEA stand for?
Thanks

http://www.4shared.c...EA_1_RED36.html for fs
EMEA is the only fs i found on topsony that looked ok. As long as it has English, (they all do) it's okay anyway.
http://www.2shared.c...1_CA_RED36.html for main

Hey steady
You could very well be the 'MAN'
I have however totaly lost my way trying to understand the logic of the firmware nomenclature.
I thought I had to find firmware that was compatible with that which is installed on my phone. EG: R1L002
I am beginning to form a sneaking suspicion that there are no logical rules governing this procedure and that it is a matter of experience or some form of JuJu that leads one to the correct firmware.
For example forget about everything you read in the how to get started forum, put a bag over your head and press the 'any key' 'Hey Marge which one is the any key?......................
There must surely be a logic supporting the creation and development of firmware and its relationship with phone types. Is there anyone out there (hello!) who actually really knows how this works.................................. or are we all just hanging by a thread.
