background: looking to buy some w300i that i suspect are simple problems that i can fix by flashing, here's the condition of them:

(1) the phone works fine, just the screen is completely white - i assume just some display drivers or something are messed up, easy fix with reflash right?

(2) the phone will boot up to sony ericsson picture then freezes - again a simple reflash will do it right?

(3) the phone lights up but goes to a white screen - i'm guessing this is like phone (2), but the phone just freezes before the sony ericsson picture.

again, all phones are w300i

number 1 most likely be the screen
number 2 a flash will do it
number 3 needs a flash too

thanks for the quick reply.

do you know if changing the screen on the w300i is worth the work? i'd assume it's a lot harder than on w810i type phones [i've done these before], but clamshell must be remarkably harder right?

also any knowledge about flash menu on w300i?

Usually, white screen is a result of corrupt GDFS file (can't find the phone settings), the result is hanging in the middle of the please wait... message. If you have a backup (your phone's original GDFS file), flash it back into the phone.
